Plum & Soda is Olivia Park — a Brisbane illustrator who draws people, live, in the middle of the party.
The work sits where fashion illustration meets the event: a loose confident line, a warm wash of colour, and a portrait finished while the guest is still smiling. No screen, no download — something to carry home.
She started sketching guests at a friend's wedding in 2021. It's now a diary of weddings, brand activations, galas and launches across South East Queensland and beyond.
On the night
Four stages, none of which you have to run
- 01
Before the doors
Set up, out of the way
A slim easel or drawing table in the corner you picked. Everything supplied — paper, inks, markers. I need about a metre and good light.

As guests arrive
Portraits, live
Guests sit, or I sketch them where they stand. Each portrait takes five to twelve minutes — loose, fast, flattering, and unmistakably hand-drawn.

Through the night
A crowd gathers
The drawing turns into its own entertainment. People watch their friends appear on paper — no screen, no filter, nothing to download.

On the way out
They take it with them
Every guest leaves with their portrait in hand, or I keep them for a single bound keepsake. Your call, decided on the planning call.

Send this to your coordinator and there's nothing left to sort out on the day.

- Decent light, or I'll bring my own — direct sun and wind are the problems
